Multiplier Event – Køge

As the conclusion of our GUP project, we held a Multiplier Event where we presented our green route to a 10th-grade class enrolled in the “Global Citizen” program. This tour fit perfectly with the GUP project’s focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as we combined cultural narratives with important global topics along the way.

The tour began at Clara’s Cemetery on Åsen, a site of great historical significance as it is the final resting place of the renowned Danish priest and poet N.F.S. Grundtvig. Normally, access to the cemetery—surrounded by high yellow walls and a wrought-iron gate—is restricted, but we were fortunate to meet the gardener on-site, who provided us with an unexpected and fascinating guided tour. We were allowed to see the historic crypt where Grundtvig rests, and the gardener shared intriguing stories about other prominent figures buried there. This was a fantastic and unexpected highlight of the tour.

Along the route, we encountered several theatrical characters who brought the experience to life. Grundtvig, the central figure, interacted with Clara at the cemetery, Frederik VII in the garden of Det Grønne Hus, Victoria—the 12-year-old girl from the book series Victoria and the Sustainable Development Goals—at the playground and community kitchen, and the brave naval hero Niels Juel at the Maritime Peninsula. The actors delivered engaging dialogues, debating how different Sustainable Development Goals could be linked to cultural history, nature, and the environment.

The tour concluded with a presentation of the GUP project’s technological tools, including the app and HUB, and all participants received a brochure to explore the content further and test out the technologies.

All in all, it was an exciting and educational day that combined history, culture, nature, and technology in an inspiring way—a perfect conclusion to the GUP project.
